What is brow tattooing?

This technique is a process that may be used to improve or create eyebrow definition, to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend the eyebrows, or may be used as a full reconstruction if the brows have little/no hair. The shape, color and density of the completed eyebrows is completely customized to your facial structure and preferences.

FAQS

How long does it take?

The Initial application appointment is 2 hours.  I typically draw them with pencil first based on your bone structure, face shape and hair growth, and then have you adjust what you like, don’t like, etc.  Once you approve them, we proceed with the microblading/ microshading. It’s important to know that microblading/ microshading is a 2 part process and a touch touch up is required  (6 -12 weeks later)

How long does it last?

Pigment will fade over time.  The biggest indicator of this is the technique of implanting pigment and your skin type.  Dry skin will typically hold pigment longer than oily skin.  Powder brows/ Microshading typically lasts longer than hair stroke microblading.  You'll typically want a touch up every year or two.

is the procedure painful?

A highly effective topical anesthetic is used to ease discomfort during the procedure

What is the difference between powder brows/ microshading vs. microblading ?

Both are a form of tattooing by implanting pigment in the upper dermal layer of the skin.

For microblading, a small hand tool with a blade is used.   “Hair strokes” are created by making little scratches on your skin.

Powder brows are created with a tattoo achine and tiny flecks of pigment are deposited into your skin by a soft layering technique.

Powder brows are typically a more “defined” look, whereas microblading looks more like natural hair.

A combination/hybrid brow is a mixture of microblading and shading.

Many ladies have the option of choosing either, and some ladies prefer the look of one over the other.  However, not every skin type is a candidate for microblading hair strokes.  Large pores and very oily skin do not hold hair strokes very well.   Also, ladies with thin skin and/ or sun-damaged skin are not good candidates for hair stroke microblading.  Powder brows work for all skin types and typically last longer than hair stroke microblading.  Healing and your health and safety are crucial to each method.  So minimum health requirements must be met for both (Ex: Dermatitis, history of keloid scarring, some autoimmune disorders, etc)
